New Delhi: After the meeting of the BJP Legislature Party in Gujarat, the new CM has been announced. As expected, BJP will stamp a name which is not discussed far and wide, something similar happened. Kadwa Patidar leader Bhupendra Patel, away from the claim of CM post, was entrusted with the responsibility till the next assembly elections. Bhupendra Patel is known for administrative work and a person of calm nature as well as a Hinduist leader.
In the last five to six years, the role of Kadva Party has increased in Gujarat. The Kadwa community has been very active in the state’s movements. Bhupendra Patel is very close to senior BJP leader and PM Modi loyalist Anandiben Patel and is an MLA from his constituency Ghatlodia. Bhupendra Patel will now have the important responsibility of making the party win in Surat and Ahmedabad in the upcoming elections, as the BJP had to face defeat in the last assembly elections in both these places. Bhupendra Patel is now in charge of India’s foremost state and traditional Hindutva laboratory.
Party that has changed five chief ministers
Bhupendra Patel has come to power in an era of BJP in which no state chief can take power lightly. The BJP has changed five chief ministers in the last six months before Patel resigned from former chief minister Vijay Rupani. It started from Assam where, despite registering a landslide victory in the assembly elections, Himanta Biswa Sarma was made the Chief Minister by replacing the then CM Sarbananda Sonowal. After this there were two changes in Uttarakhand in which Trivendra Singh Rawat was replaced by first Tirath Singh Rawat and then Pushkar Singh Dhami was made the Chief Minister in his place. After this, after removing BS Yeddyurappa in Karnataka, his close aide Basavaraj Bommai was handed over the command of the state.
It is not normal for the BJP to change chief ministers at such a rapid pace. Several Chief Ministers of the party served the state for 10-15 years including Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Raman Singh, Yediyurappa and PM Narendra Modi himself. Earlier in the Sangh Parivar, mockery was used for rotational CM. When Uma Bharti was replaced by Shivraj Singh Chauhan, a lot of displeasure was expressed.
There may be many arguments about the BJP making frequent changes in the leadership of the state, but the message is clear that no one is sure of a seat here. This is a short message from the Center to the state leaders that maybe if we can make you, we can also break you. Now the BJP has started making a list of people who will be high performers in future. Yogi Adityanath, Himanta Biswa Sarma, Suvendu Adhikari are some of the people who can take over in future. Now only the future will tell whether the 59-year-old Patel remains in power in the state and whether he can join the Future Stars Club of the BJP or not.
