According to popular tipster Wabetainfo, WhatsApp is working on the possibility of bringing voice transcription feature to its messaging app. This simply means that when the feature is rolled out, the app will start transcribing voice messages. According to the report, ‘We had already talked about the possibility of getting the transcription of your voice messages four months ago using a third-party app on WhatsApp for Android.

Since WhatsApp doesn’t support this feature, there was a need for an additional app, but now things are changing as we can now announce that WhatsApp is working on voice message transcription.
How will this feature work?
The WhatsApp feature tracker states that your messages will not be sent to WhatsApp or Facebook servers to receive transcription, but Apple apparently offers a voice transcription feature. While your voice message will help Apple improve its speech recognition technology, it will not be associated with your name.
According to the report, this feature will be optional, but if you decide to transcribe the message, then you will need a special permission.

The report shows that you have to give specific permissions to the app to transcribe your messages. The screenshot shows that there will be a special transcript section inside the app. Where you can paste your voice recording and start the Transcript feature.
