Apart from Delhi-NCR, there have been reports of viral fever outbreaks in some districts of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Now news has come that in Siliguri district of West Bengal, about 70 children have been admitted due to fever and difficulty in breathing. Siliguri District Hospital pediatrician Dr. Subir Bhowmik has told that most of these 70 children are below 5 months of age.
At the same time, due to viral and dengue in Agra district of western UP, the number of children in hospitals has increased significantly. Rajeev Upadhyay, President of IMA Agra has told – At present 40 to 50 percent of the patients are of viral fever and dengue. More than 60 percent of these patients are children. At the same time, Arun Kumar Srivastava, Chief Medical Officer of the district says – We have received 35 dengue cases, out of which 14 are still under treatment. On the arrival of any dengue patient, the hospitals have been instructed to inform us immediately. Fogging is being done continuously around the medical college and other hospitals.
Cases of pneumonia influenza have been found in Delhi, scrub typhus in UP
Earlier, pediatricians in Delhi’s AIIMS are also getting cases of pneumonia influenza. In Uttar Pradesh, the government team has also found cases of bacterial infections like scrub typhus and leptospirosis. According to experts, these diseases are also becoming a cause of death in newborns and children with low immunity. Apart from these, the effect of the medicine is getting better in other children.
Prevention of mosquito-borne diseases is essential
The Health Ministry says that due to the monsoon season, mosquito-borne diseases have also spread across the country. Dr. VK Paul, member of NITI Aayog and head of the Kovid Task Force, had said- ‘Apart from Corona, we should also be adequately prepared to fight dengue and malaria. We should cover our hands and use mosquito repellant and mosquito nets.
