New Delhi. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit Jammu and Kashmir, Goa, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Uttarakhand in the next fortnight. Officials gave this information on Monday. Shah will first visit Goa on October 14 and inaugurate a forensic science laboratory. He will also hold a meeting with top officials of the state government.
According to a ministry official, the Home Minister will be in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands from October 15 to 17 and during this visit he will review several development programs in the Union Territory. He can visit the Cellular Jail there and participate in programs related to ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’.

According to the official, Shah will be on a three-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir from October 23 to 25. His visit is part of the Central Government’s Maha Sampark program in which 70 Union Ministers are visiting the Union Territory. During this visit, Shah will visit remote areas of Kashmir Valley and Jammu region and take stock of several development schemes.
Another official said that the Home Minister will also participate in high-level meetings on law and order with senior officials of the Union Territory’s administration, police, paramilitary forces and the Army. Several Union Ministers have already visited the Union Territory and visits of many others are proposed. Shah will be on a visit to Uttarakhand on October 30 during which he will hold meetings with senior officials of the state government.
