New Delhi. When it comes to the Indian car market, from micro-SUVs to full-size luxury SUVs, there are a plethora of options available in the market to satisfy everyone’s needs. However, ahead of the festive season, several new SUVs are ready to make their way into the Indian market. From the Mahindra XUV700 to the Tata Punch, most automakers are gearing up to offer a range of vehicles in India’s preferred body style. Here we are giving information about the top five SUVs that will make their place in India this year by Diwali 2021.
The Tata Punch will be an important car for the brand which will take on the likes of Mahindra KUV100 and the upcoming Hyundai Casper. Apart from the bold look and upright stance, the car is said to get 16-inch alloy wheels, 7-inch touch screen, Harman sound system and a lengthy safety kit. The car could come with two engine options of 1.2L petrol and 1.2L turbo petrol. Tata Punch is expected to start at Rs 4.5 Lakh ex-showroom.

The company is expected to launch the Mahindra XUV700 on October 2. The car will be available in both 5 seat and 7 seat configurations. The XUV700 will come in two engine options which include a 200HP 2.0L mStallion turbo-petrol engine along with a 185HP 2.2L mHawk oil burner engine. The car will be available in two transmissions which include a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. Mahindra XUV700 will be available in multiple variants, starting from Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
The MG Astor, which will essentially be the IC-engined version of the ZS EV, will be next in line from the company’s stable. The car will be very different compared to the ZS EV, which will get redesigned headlamps on the front face, a revised bumper, a new grille and a new alloy wheel. The car will be equipped with AI-powered technology and will be capable of level-2 autonomous driving, which includes adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist and other features.

Volkswagen Taigun will be the most important launch for the company which is scheduled for 23 September. The MQB-A0-IN chassis will support the automobile, which will be available with two engine options which include 1.0L TSI and 1.5L TSI. The car is expected to be available at a starting price of Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom) and will take on other brands like Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta.
The new Force Gurkha is expected to hit the dealerships soon. The new offroader will get fresh aesthetics, improved cabin and redesigned side profile. The powertrain of the car will include a 2.2L engine that will produce 140 PS of power and 350Nm of torque.
