New Delhi. Renault has gifted the Kiger SUV to India’s Olympic medal winning wrestlers Ravi Kumar Dahiya and Bajrang Punia. Ravi Kumar Dahiya won the silver medal in the 57 kg category in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Punia won the bronze medal in the 65 kg category.
Renault has already given a gift – This is the fourth time that Renault has honored Indian Olympic medalists. Earlier, the French carmaker gifted the Kiger SUV to weight lifter Mirabai Chanu and boxer Lovlina, who won a silver medal in the women’s 49kg category and a bronze medal in the women’s welterweight event at the Tokyo Olympics 2021.

This is the price of Kiger SUV – Renault launched the ‘Made in India’ Kiger SUV earlier this year at a starting price of Rs 5.45 lakh (ex-showroom). It caters to the sub-compact SUV segment along with rivals like Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Nissan Magnite.
There are so many variants of Kiger SUV – The Kiger SUV was initially offered in four variants – RXE, RXL, RXT, RXZ. It is offered with two engine options, which include a 1.0-litre turbocharged 3-cylinder petrol engine that is capable of producing 100 PS of power and 160 Nm of peak torque, while the 1.0-litre petrol engine produces 72 PS of power. and produces 96 Nm of peak torque.

Talking about transmission, the 1.0-litre petrol engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed EASY-R AMT. The 1-litre turbocharged engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed X-TRONIC CVT. The company announced that as part of completing a successful ten years in India, the company has launched an all-new RXT (O) variant of the Kiger SUV. The company said that it aims to increase volumes in the country with its product portfolio expansion strategy. The company also said that it is rapidly expanding the reach of its network in India. Renault India currently has over 500 sales and service touchpoints across the country, which includes 200+ Workshop on Wheels outlets.
