New Delhi. There is news of relief for those who lost their jobs during the Corona period. The Atal Beemit Vyakti Kalyan Yojna, run by the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation under the Ministry of Labor, has been extended. Now after applying in this scheme till June 2022, the benefit of allowance can be taken. Due to Corona, this decision has been taken in the 185th meeting of ESIC due to the situation still not coming back on track.
The benefit of this scheme is given to those people who have lost their jobs. Under this, the person applying is given financial help or allowance from ESIC (Employee’s State Insurance Corporation), as well as the applicant and family get ESIC cover or medical facility for six months. If a person loses his job, then he can also get his dependents treated by ESIC for the next six months.
MK Sharma, Insurance Commissioner, Revenue and Benefits, Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), says that under this scheme, 50 percent of the salary is given for a maximum period of three months. Three months is the time when any unemployed can find a new job for themselves. Meanwhile, if someone gets a job and his contribution to ESIC starts coming in, then this amount is stopped before three months. However, if the job is lost again, then he can again get the benefit of the remaining part of this scheme.
New ESIC beds will be made
Apart from extending the period of ABVKY, some other important decisions have also been taken in this meeting. In which two ESIC hospitals of 100 beds will be built in Karnataka. Apart from this, seven new dispensaries will also be opened in Kerala. A new 30-bed ESIC hospital will be built in Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh.
