Mumbai Police has filed a 1500-page chargesheet against Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra in the pornography case. After the filing of this chargesheet, Raj Kundra has once again reached the court. Raj Kundra has filed a bail application in the Magistrate Court of Mumbai for his bail.
Raj Kundra took this decision after filing a 1500-page chargesheet filed by Mumbai Police. According to a report by the Bar and Bench, in his bail application, he has claimed that after investigation, the police have filed a charge sheet. So now he can come out on bail.
According to the report, Raj Kundra has claimed that he took this step when 8 out of 9 people recorded in the chargesheet have got bail from the court. Through an application filed by advocate Prashant Patil, Kundra has now sought bail citing similarity with the co-accused.
Reasons given for bail
- Raj Kundra is a permanent resident of India and has deep ties with him.
- Raj Kundra was associated with the company whose mobile apps are Bollyfame and Hotshots only for 10 months.
- During this period, Raj Kundra interacted with some of the clients of AMPL, but never took any active part in contact building or any content creation.
- He has faced health issues during the COVID-19 situation.
You had earlier reported that Raj Kundra’s business partner has said in the supplementary chargesheet that Raj Kundra had set up the online platform Hotshot with the intention of distributing obscene material. Mumbai Police has now made this statement a part of the supplementary charge sheet. After Kundra’s arrest, the police also arrested Ryan Thorpe. Thorpe was reportedly arrested from Pulin Nerul area.
During investigation, it emerged that a company named Armsprime Limited, in which Kundra and Saurabh Kushwaha were directors, had developed the app (Hotshots) for Kenrin, a London-based company. Kushwaha held 35 per cent stake. According to the Times of India report, Kushwaha has alleged that from uploading porn videos to controlling the app, it was in Kundra’s hands. He had reportedly sold Hotshot to UK-based Kenrin Limited and Raj Kundra resigned as Armsprime director a day before the sale.
