Bangalore. Responding to Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s demand to reduce customs duty on imported electric cars, Ola co-founder and CEO Bhavish Aggarwal said on Sunday. That whoever wants to import vehicles in India should invest in the country.
Aggarwal said in an event organized before the launch of his company’s electric scooter in the market that the industry will have to create a sustainability revolution in the country and also develop the technology and manufacturing ecosystem.

Asked about Tesla’s demand for reducing import duty on its EVs to set up operations in India, he said, “I welcome him (Musk) to India… You know competition is good. Ultimately the industry has to create a sustainability revolution in the country.”

He further said that it is not just about sustainability but about developing the Indian technology ecosystem and developing the manufacturing ecosystem.
Ola launches 2 electric scooters, deliveries will start in October
It is worth noting that Ola has launched its electric scooter on Sunday (August 15). The company has introduced it in the market with 2 models S1 and S1 Pro. The price of S1 has been kept at Rs 99999 and the price of S1 Pro is Rs 129999 ex-showroom.
