New Delhi. If you are entering the borders of Delhi from the states around Delhi like Haryana, UP, Punjab, Rajasthan and Punjab, then there is good news for you. Now you will get freedom from daily traffic jam, as well as the burden of toll tax will also be reduced on you. Along with this, there will be a lot of relief from air pollution. South Delhi Municipal Corporation has now integrated a new technology Radio Frequency Identification Device (RFID) database with the National FASTag. From September 1, the entry of commercial vehicles with RFID tags has been made mandatory at all 124 toll points of Delhi.

After this decision of South Delhi Municipal Corporation, the burden of toll tax on commercial vehicle operators will be reduced. At present, commercial vehicles have to buy a different type of chip at the borders of Delhi. According to the South Municipal Corporation, it will be implemented first at the Badarpur border entry point as well. At present, there are two toll collection systems just a few meters away. One of them is from the Municipal Corporation and the other is from the National Highway Authority of India. Connecting both the systems is the need of the hour.

The traffic jam of the city will be less like this than a commercial vehicle
According to the corporation, due to the current system, the problem of traffic jam on the borders of Delhi persists. Altogether there are 124 border points in Delhi, where these vehicles have to pay toll tax. Of these, RFID systems have now been installed at 13 major locations. About 85 percent of commercial vehicle traffic comes from these places in the city. The cost of integration at a border point comes to Rs 1 to 1.5 crores.
Toll tax will also have to be paid less
It is worth noting that most commercial vehicles in Delhi come to the city from Badarpur and Rajokri border. Commercial vehicles coming from Haryana side, especially from Faridabad side, have to pay toll tax twice. This is the reason why integration will be done there first. Rajokri’s number will come in the next round.

Earlier this project was being monitored by Environment Pollution Control Authority, but now it is under the jurisdiction of Commission for Air Quality Management (NCR). Digital tax collection and traffic jam-free at Delhi’s major border anti-points through the RFID system was envisioned, but it has so far failed to achieve its goals.
