New Delhi. Maruti Suzuki, the largest car maker in India, has been relatively calm at a time when all other carmakers were introducing new models in the market. The company is expected to introduce several facelifted versions of its existing models including the luxury hatchback Baleno. According to reports, Maruti will soon launch the facelift version of the Baleno hatchback. It has been spotted testing on Indian roads in the recent past, which has revealed some changes.
Maruti Baleno has been one of the best selling models of the Indian carmaker since last few years. Launched six years ago, the Baleno got the last facelift in 2019, when it was offered with the current bumper and grille design and 7.0-inch SmartPlay infotainment system.

There will be many changes in Maruti Baleno – In the facelift version, the Maruti Baleno is expected to get several updates. These include new look headlights with dual arrow shaped DRLs, new taillights with new design and alloy wheels. The bonnet is also expected to get an updated design.
Interior of Maruti Baleno – The new facelist model of the car is expected to get more changes in the interiors as compared to the exteriors. The test unit of the new Baleno is likely to get a redesigned dashboard, a new and larger touchscreen infotainment system, wireless CarPlay and a new digital instrument cluster, according to the images leaked on social media.
Engine of Maruti Baleno – Only the existing engine can be used in the new facelist model. The Baleno hatchback currently comes with a choice of two engines in India. There is a 1.2-litre K12M VVT engine that is capable of producing 83 hp of power and 113 Nm of peak torque. On the other hand, there is a 1.3-litre DDiS 200 diesel engine, which generates 74 hp power and 190 Nm peak torque. These car engines come mated to a 5-speed manual or a CVT automatic gearbox.

Safety Features of Maruti Baleno – Maruti Baleno will come with dual airbags, ABS and EBD as regular safety features. It is yet to be seen whether Maruti will incorporate any new safety features in this car in addition to the already available safety features.
The current Maruti Baleno prices start at Rs 5.54 lakh (ex-showroom) and go up to Rs 8.69 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-spec Alpha 1.3 diesel manual variant. Once launched, it can compete with cars like Hyundai i20, Tata Altroz, Volkswagen Polo and Honda Jazz.
