Sao Paulo. The great football player Pele is still in the ICU. Surgery was done to remove the tumor (lump) of his stomach. The Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo said in a statement that 80-year-old Edson Arantes do Nacimento (Pele) is recovering well after surgery, although he remains in the ICU.
The hospital said Pele was in talks and his blood pressure and other things were normal. The 3-time world champion from Brazil also said on his Instagram that every day I am feeling a little better. He had gone to the hospital in August for a routine check-up when this colon tumor (a lump formed in the right side of the abdomen) was detected.
