Bahraich. A new demand has come to the fore regarding the farmers killed in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence in Uttar Pradesh. In fact, there is news from Behraich that people of the Sikh community have written a letter to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to change the name of the village here. It has been requested in the letter that the name of the village should be named after the ‘martyr’ farmer in Lakhimpur. Along with this, it has been demanded in the letter that action should be taken against the culprits by conducting a fair investigation of the matter.
The matter is of Moharnia and Banjaran Tada villages of Nanpara tehsil. The farmers here, Daljit Singh and Gurvinder Singh, were tragically killed in the violence on October 3 in Tikunia, Lakhimpur. After this, an agreement has also been reached between the farmers and the government on certain conditions. The matter is now calm.
Meanwhile, the district president of Gurdwara Gursingh Sabha of Bahraich has written a letter to the Chief Minister demanding that the village and road be named after the deceased farmers Guruwinder and Daljit. While the name of Guruwinder’s village Moharnia should be changed to Guruwinder Nagar, a demand has been made to name a road after Daljit Singh, a resident of Banjaran Tada.
