Washington. Prime Minister Narendra Modi met US Vice-President Kamala Harris at the White House on Thursday. On this occasion, Harris described India and America as natural partners. During the meeting, Prime Minister Modi exuded confidence that bilateral relations would reach new heights under the leadership of US President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.
Prime Minister Modi also invited Vice President Kamala Harris to visit India. Modi told Harris, ‘You are an inspiration to many people in the world.’ This is the first meeting between the two leaders. Earlier, Harris spoke to PM Modi over the phone during the Kovid-19 crisis in India.

During the meeting, the two leaders stressed on strengthening the India-US strategic partnership and discussed issues of mutual and global interest. Harris called India a “very important partner” of the US. Also welcomed the announcement of New Delhi, in which India has talked about resuming the export of Kovid-19 vaccine soon.

In April this year, India stopped the export of Kovid vaccines after the second wave of the pandemic hit the country. On Monday, India said it will resume exporting additional vaccines as needed in the fourth quarter of 2021 under the ‘Vaccine Friendship’ program and to meet its commitment to the Covox global campaign.
‘Pakistan should stop fostering terror’
During the press briefing, Foreign Secretary Harsh Shringla said that the bilateral discussions were genuine and cordial. He said that climate change, terrorism, cyber security, space and other issues were discussed during the meeting. Shringla said that when the issue of terrorism came up, Kamala Harris mentioned Pakistan’s role in this regard. He asked Pakistan to stop supporting terrorist groups.
