Muscat. Indian-origin Jaskaran Malhotra has made a new record in One Day International by hitting 6 sixes in 6 balls. He is only the second player in the world after Herschelle Gibbs to hit 6 sixes in an over in ODIs. Jaskaran, playing from America, achieved this feat in the 50th over against Papua New Guinea. He hit 16 sixes and 4 fours in his innings of 173 not out. That is, he scored 112 runs in 20 balls.
This is only the 7th International ODI match of Jaskaran Malhotra, originally from Punjab. Before this match, the 31-year-old’s highest score was 18 runs. He did this feat in the over of fast bowler Gaudi Toka. He came out to bat at number 5. He faced 124 balls. Playing first in the match, America scored 271 runs for 9 wickets. Papua New Guinea has yet to bat.

Before Jaskaran Malhotra, Herschelle Gibbs of South Africa did this feat in ODI cricket. He did this during the ODI World Cup in 2007 against the Netherlands.
