New Delhi. On the 100th anniversary of the iconic Indian Chief, Indian Motorcycles has officially announced the launch of its new 2022 Chief lineup in India. According to Indian Motorcycle, the new Chief has been built with a basic and mechanical look that honors the glory days of American motorcycling. The new Indian Chief Dark Horse, Indian Chief Bobber Dark Horse, and Indian Super Chief Limited offer three different takes on the classic American V-twin, based on a simple steel-tube frame and powered by the Indian motorcycle’s Thunderstroke motor.

Features of 2022 Chief Range – The lineup gets 15.1-litre fuel tank, bobbed rear fenders, dual outboard preload-adjustable rear shocks, dual exhaust, LED lighting, keyless ignition and Pirelli Knight Dragon tyres. Apart from cruise control, riders can adjust the throttle by choosing one of 3 control modes which include Sports, Standard and Tour modes.
The Chief series has a shorter 1626 mm wheelbase, 662 mm seat height, and weighs only 304 kg. The Chief’s classic 46 mm front fork with 132 mm of travel, 28.5 degree lean angle and comfortable handling make it a capable machine even with the most difficult rides.

Engine of 2022 Chief Range – Indian Motorcycle’s Thunderstroke 116 (1890cc) engine powers all premium Chief versions with 162 Nm of torque. ABS is standard, high gloss black finishes are standard on the Chief and Chief Bobber Dark Horse models, while premium chrome finishes are standard on the Super Chief Limited.
Each model gets a 101 mm round ride command system. Riders can control the ride command system through grip controls or a digital IPS touchscreen display. Multiple interfaces are available to riders, including two optional gauge configurations, bike and ride information, and turn-by-turn navigation. If riders are using a wireless helmet communicator, riders can control their music within the ride command system after pairing their phone via Bluetooth or USB. Riders can also access phone information, including last call, contacts, number pad and text message history. Once connected, riders can directly accept or decline incoming calls through the RIDE COMMAND system.
