London. The fifth Test between India and England (IND vs ENG) was canceled amid the fear of Corona. Team India has returned without playing this test. However, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has also written a letter to the ICC regarding this. It has been said that no player from India was positive, even after this Team India did not play the match. Now the ICC, the world body of cricket, has to decide whether the fifth Test should be considered canceled or England should be declared the winner. Currently, Team India is ahead 2-1 in the series.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald, the ECB may withdraw the letter to the ICC and speak directly to the BCCI on the issue. Team India has to play a series of three ODIs and three T20 matches in England next year. BCCI has offered to play two additional T20 matches. However, it has been made clear by the Indian board that the final test will be considered postponed.
The dispute between the two boards is increasing
After the cancellation of the Manchester Test, however, the dispute between the BCCI and the ECB escalated. The ECB has banned players from entering the IPL playoffs and asked them to play in the T20 series against Pakistan. However, now the ball is in ICC’s court as to what it decides. Should the series be considered as 4 matches or 5 matches? On this basis, the points of the World Championship of both the teams will also be decided.

Double trouble for ECB
Team India’s coach Ravi Shastri including 4 support staff were found positive. In such a situation, if the ICC believes that the final Test is canceled due to Kovid-19, then the ECB will not get the insurance money. Because it does not include corona. In such a situation, the ECB will suffer a loss of about Rs 550 crore. However, if an additional Test is played under the broadcasting contract of 2020-2024, then this loss can be reduced to Rs 100 crore.
