Alcanar. Several homes and business establishments were damaged on Thursday due to flooding caused by heavy rain in the city of Alcanar in north-eastern Spain. Local residents said that no casualty has been reported in the flash floods on Wednesday evening. “We climbed into our apartment and left everything to God,” said Rosa Maria Sansho, owner of the restaurant in Alcanar.
How severe the flood was, it can be gauged from the fact that many cars were washed away in the water. Homes and business establishments were filled with mud, water and debris. Other parts of central and northern Spain, including Madrid, also witnessed flood-like conditions on Wednesday.
