Smartphone company Apple on Tuesday launched several new models of its iPhone 13 line-up during the livestream of ‘Apple Event 2021’. During this, RD Burman’s song ‘Dum Maro Dum’ from the 1971 Bollywood film ‘Hare Krishna Hare Ram’ was played. Those who attended the event say that this song was played when the speakers unveiled the latest iPhone 13. This song was played even before the introduction of iPhone advertising.
RD Burman-Asha Bhosle’s song ‘Dum Maro Dum’ was very much liked by Dev Anand. Dev Anand and Zeenat Aman were in this song. Devanand talked to Spotboye about this song. He had said, “I wanted a young vibrant sound for Hare Rama Hare Krishna. So I took permission from Burman Dada (Sachin Dev Burman) to sign his son. When Pancham came to me with ‘Dum Maaro Dum’, I was not sure how much people would like this. It was a completely new sound. But we took a risk and it paid off.”
During the Apple iPhone event, the song ‘Dum Maaro Dum’ was included at the beginning of the video for the song ‘Work All Day’ by artist Footsy. Actually, this song ‘Work All Day’ of Footsy is a sample of the superhit song of Bollywood’s hit film.
In the year 2011, Rohan Sippy along with music composer and singer Pritam remixed this song in the title track of a film ‘Dum Maaro Dum’. Deepika Padukone performed on this remix song. This song also became a super hit but Devanand did not like it at all. Expressed displeasure at Pritam and Rohan. In a statement given to Spotboye, Devanand said, “This is a complete disgrace. He didn’t have the decency to ask me before using ‘Dum Maaro Dum’ as he wanted. What about RD Burman, Asha Bhosle, Anand Bakshi and me? What about the people who actually made Dum Maaro Dum?”
Playing Bollywood’s most superhit song on such a big event of the world is no less than a happy moment for Bollywood fans.
