Anantapur. A strange incident has come to light in Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh, which has raised questions on the Coronavirus Vaccination Program. A person living in Hindupur here died in July. The son of this deceased person received a message on the phone that both the doses of the Kovid-19 vaccine have been successfully administered to his father. The family members have expressed their displeasure over this message and have accused them of negligence in the vaccination programme.
The deceased man’s son alleged that “large scale negligence and malpractices are being done in the vaccination programme. The officers involved in the process are unable to perform their duty and have also registered dead persons for vaccination on the Kovin platform. He said that the working style of the district administration regarding registration of Kovid-19 vaccination is already facing criticism. The administration is carrying out the work by taking vaccines from the village and ward secretariats. This responsibility of vaccination of the beneficiaries has been entrusted to the ANM along with the medical staff. The city commissioner is responsible for monitoring the vaccination process.”

He said that many glitches are coming out in the district in the vaccination process. Administration To meet the daily targets of vaccination, local health workers are reportedly registering more and more people. They are booking slots without proper documents and on Kovin platform. It was also told in the reports that there are many people who have not been vaccinated yet, but they have got the message on mobile that they have been successfully vaccinated.
In this regard, the district level officer said that the local staff is sending messages only to those people who are yet to get vaccinated. However, the employees have called it a technical glitch. According to the data, till September 12, there were 15,110 active Kovid-19 cases in Andhra Pradesh. On the other hand, Health Department officials said that till Sunday more than 15.4 lakh vaccine doses had been given, which is the highest ever dose given in a day in the state.
