Kolkata: West Bengal’s ruling party Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Tuesday denied an election complaint by the BJP. Earlier, the Chief Electoral Agent of BJP’s candidate from Bhawanipur, Priyanka Tibrewal, had lodged her complaint by writing a letter to the Election Officer. Senior Trinamool Congress leader and minister Farhad Hakim said the BJP candidate’s deposit would be forfeited and Banerjee would win with a record margin. After Banerjee’s defeat from BJP’s Shubhendu Adhikari in Nandigram assembly seat, Sobhandev Chattopadhyay, a minister in the state government and who won the election from Bhawanipur seat, had resigned to clear the way for Banerjee to contest from this seat and become a member of the state assembly.
