New Delhi/Kolkata. The central government has raised the security level to ‘Z’ category of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Arjun Singh from West Bengal in view of the recent bombing incidents at his residence. Officials gave this information on Wednesday. Bombs were hurled recently at the residence of 59-year-old Singh, a Lok Sabha member from West Bengal’s Barrackpore seat, in North 24 Parganas district.
Officials said Singh was getting ‘Y+’ category security but it has been increased to ‘Z’ category in view of recent violent incidents against him and his family members. Their security will be handled by armed commandos of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).
BJP’s allegation, Trinamool is trying to get murdered
A few days after some miscreants threw bombs at Arjun Singh’s house, on Tuesday morning, such blasts happened again outside his house. The BJP leader alleged that the ruling Trinamool Congress was trying to get him killed.
The attack took place outside the house of BJP MP Arjun Singh when the MP was not present at the house. Although all the members of his family were present inside the house at that time. Police reached the spot after getting information about the incident, started investigation and trying to trace the attackers through CCTV footage.
Now the security system will be like this
Under ‘Z’ category security, the MP will be accompanied by around six-seven commandos during his travels in the state and an additional contingent will provide security at his residence. Earlier only two security personnel lived with him.
