New Delhi. Due to the pandemic, Indian professionals are rethinking their careers. This fact has come to the fore in a survey by Amazon India. The e-commerce giant has conducted this survey to find out the impact of Kovid-19 on jobs and future career planning.
The survey was conducted by Morning Consult in August among 1,000 professionals across the country. 59 per cent of the professionals surveyed said that they are looking for a new job. According to the survey, due to Kovid-19, more than one in three (35 percent) professionals in India have been cut in salary.
68 percent people are looking for employment in some other industry
More than two out of three (68 percent) people looking for jobs in India are looking for employment in some other industry due to Kovid-19. At the same time, one in three (33 percent) people looking for jobs in the country are immediately looking for a new job where they can do more useful work. 51% of Indians looking for jobs are looking for opportunities in industries in which they have no work experience. At the same time, 55 percent of Indians said that they give the most importance to the salary they get while applying for a job.
56% people are giving more importance to job security
According to the survey, 56 percent of Indian professionals are giving more importance to job security after the pandemic. On the other hand, half or about 49 percent of professionals give more importance to job opportunities that help them to learn and develop themselves. Moreover, for 47 per cent of Indian professionals, working in a safe workplace is extremely important when looking for a job.

75 per cent of the Indians surveyed believe that their existing skills will become obsolete in five years. At the same time, 90 percent of professionals are interested in learning new skills. 45 per cent of the professionals surveyed said that technical and digital skills are essential for career growth. At the same time, 38 percent believe that marketing skills are important for career growth.
