New Delhi. After the latest violence in Myanmar on Friday, about 1500 refugees have entered the Indian border. According to the government data of Mizoram, 1546 refugees have arrived in two districts of the state. These districts are Hnathiyal and Champhai.
According to a report published on the Indian Express, an official of the state Home Ministry has said that a large influx of refugees has entered the state in the last two days. According to news agency PTI, the latest violence took place after a nationwide bandh was called by supporters of the country’s exiled National Unity Government (NUG). In fact, there was a fierce exchange of fire between the NUG supporters and the military junta forces of the country. The place where this violence took place is very close to the Myanmar border.
There was a coup in February, Aung San Suu Kyi was under house arrest
In the month of February, Myanmar’s tallest leader Aung San Suu Kyi and other senior leaders of the ruling party were detained during a raid on Monday morning. In Myanmar, the army put State Councilor Aung San Suu Kyi under house arrest in a coup. Emergency has been declared in the country for a year. The person who has been involved in this coup is the Commander-in-Chief of the Myanmar Army, General Min Aung Laing.
The general had already warned about electoral rigging
General Min, the commander-in-chief of Myanmar’s military, had indicated just days before the coup that he would launch a military coup if his demands related to election fraud were not met. The military had alleged that there was widespread fraud in the election held in November last year in which Aung San Suu Kyi got an overwhelming majority. In his statement published in the army newspaper Mayawadi, General Min gave a stern warning to the Aung San Suu Kyi government.
